It is a great
pleasure for me to introduce my latest work “Al Regime Al Sarih “ ( The fast Diet
) which is a nutritional guide addressed to the youth as well as
to the adult population. The book promotes scientific awareness
in a simplified manner, plus it provides the basics of the healthy
diet to prevent the
appearance chronic health problems or even to alleviate the symptoms
of health complications common to the modern man.
The book is divided into six major parts:
Chapter
1:
The Importance of the “Food Guide Pyramid” to healthy eating
and a reference for the daily food choices. In addition, it gives a resume about the 7 Dietary Guidelines
for a healthy living and the maintenance of a healthy weight.
Chapter 2: “The Nutrients
of a Healthy Meal”. It provides specific nutritional properties
of macronutrients such as carbohydrates, proteins & fats. Moreover,
it explains the importance of micronutrients ( vitamins / mineral
salts ) and water in
our daily lives.
Chapter 3: “The Complications of Overweight and its Drawbacks”: It defines
the state of being overweight
, its causative agents ,the standards used to determine desirable
weight and the measurement of body fat. In addition, it gives a preview
of the drawbacks of being overweight in our age, the social perceptions
and its impact in every-day living.
Chapter 4: “The Basics
of the Weight-Loss Diet”:
It gives the baseline for the success of the weight loss
diet and a comprehensive resume about the most popular diets. Moreover
it provides the latest news about weight loss
pills, surgical operations, fad diets, the classical equilibrated
Diet with different calorie levels. Last but not least it stresses the importance
of exercise in any weight loss program.
Chapter 5: “Preventive & Curative Diets for common
health problems”: It begins with a general overview of Preventive
diets, prescribes the regimen of different types of chronic complications
such as the cardiovascular diseases and elevated
blood cholesterol, hypertension, osteoporosis, cancer, anemia, diabetes
and gastro-intestinal complications.
Chapter 6: “
Healthy choices for Social Occasions”: A Practical
guide to choose the appropriate food from the “Cuisines of
the World” ( Chinese, French, Greek, Middle Eastern, etc… ). In
addition, it provides special recipes for the Holy Month of Ramadan.
The last pages of the chapter are dedicated to
table of calories and nutritional facts of fast foods
